Welcome to our website. It is now under construction. This site will contain
information about the adventures of being pregnant and childbirth.
Donations are greatly appreciated. ;)
Here is a picture of the 2 pregnancy tests indicating positive. (I know it
is hard to see)
UPDATE 02/14/2008
Today Ingrid went to the Doctor's office, she was feeling a bit under the
weather. While she was there they did the blood test and she is 100%
pregnant. Unfortunately, she also caught the flu that I have been fighting
off. The doctor said that she can have regular strength Tylenol (Do you know
how difficult it is to find REGULAR STRENGTH? Everything is Extra Strength
or Maximum Strength) and a couple of other meds and that is it. You can
start to tell that she is pregnant too. I would almost say she is behaving
stereotypically. While she is watching TV certain food commercials will make
her nauseous. While others will give her cravings. Today's cravings seem to
be Grape Tomatoes, Green Grapes and French Onion Soup from Applebees. The
flu just makes her look so miserable. Please keep her in your prayers, that
she will get better as soon as possible.
UPDATE 02/25/2008
Today was our first visit to the OBGYN. Ingrid's doctor's name is Michael
Jackson. Which I admit when I saw the name it made me snicker. Here is a
link if you want to know more about him or see a picture of him.

Today's visit took a little bit of time. First waiting in the waiting room,
then all the standard questions about family medical history and who had
what. When the doctor finally did examine her, he said that she was probably
8-9 weeks along but would be able to better tell after a sonogram. Ingrid
has to make an appointment for a sonogram. So hopefully in the next couple
of days we will find out when her expected due date is. (Which if the doctor
is correct in his initial guess, that would mean that she would be due late
September/early October) Her next appointment is March 24th. They gave us a
bag full of different things for expectant parents.
UPDATE 03/02/2008
Sorry that this took a couple of days for me to post. I have been busy with
work and I needed to get my scanner working. Well on Friday Ingrid had her
first Ultrasound. During which we found out that the baby wasn't 8-9 weeks
along, but rather about 14 weeks along. (At the end of this week Ingrid will
be done with her first trimester) Which from what the sonogram technician
told us puts the expected due date at August 30, 2008. (So Dad, you might
want to rethink your guess of September 30 ;) ) In order to do the sonogram
Ingrid had to drink like 60 oz of water for an hour and a half beforehand
and wasn't allowed to use the bathroom. The pictures we saw were amazing. We
also got to listen to the baby's heartbeat. The technician said that the
baby is around 3.5 inches from crown to rump and weighs around 3 oz. The
baby spent the first few minutes jumping around on Ingrid's bladder. Almost
like it is camera shy. But after a while it settled down so we could get
these nice pictures.
Here are the pictures:
UPDATE 03/19/2008
On Monday we went to the Doctor for our second appointment. It was a rather
quick visit. First the nurse asked Ingrid some questions and then took the
baby's heartbeat. She said that everything sounded good. Then the doctor
came in and measured Ingrid's stomach, and asked us how things were going
and if we had any questions. Over the past week Ingrid has been experiencing
what she thought was the baby moving when she would roll over on her stomach
while she was sleeping. She said it felt like a little tap. The night that
we got home from the Doctor's appointment she felt it much more. She said it
felt like Pop Rocks were in her belly. So she is just starting to feel the
baby move in there. Over the weekend we went and registered at Babies 'R Us.
UPDATE 03/31/2008
Not much new. We are now along 18 weeks. Everyday Ingrid says that she feels
the baby kicking. The other day when she was swinging on the swings she said
she felt a big "POW" like the baby must not like swinging and decided to
give mom a big kick. She said that was hardest that she has felt the baby
kick. Well I thought some of you would like to see a picture of the Mama to
be.
UPDATE 05/10/2008
Earlier this week, Tuesday to be precise, we had our second sonogram. I
asked the sonogram tech if she could show me the gender of the baby, Ingrid
on the other hand didn't want to know. So when we got to that part, the tech
asked Ingrid to close her eyes. It was fairly easy to tell what it was, but
I checked with the tech after the sonogram to see if I had correctly
identified the gender. We also got some great pictures from the sonogram.
(Which from the first picture, I think you can discern the gender) This
morning we went out and I stopped by the baby store because I saw something
on the clearance rack, I told Ingrid to wait inside the car since I was
purchasing gender specific clothes. Well afterwards Ingrid had her hair done
and we got some lunch at Old Mill Tasty Shop. Then we got home and I put the
bag with the clothes in the closet. A couple of minutes later I see Ingrid
digging in my closet. I told her that if she wants to know I will show her.
She said that she really wanted to know. So I told her. (She lasted longer
than I thought) For those of you who don't want to know the gender until the
baby is born, I will not directly post it on this page. But for those who
wish to know. Click

UPDATE 06/29/2008
Last Week (06/21/2008) Ingrid had her baby shower at
Twist, it was organized by Carol
and Maxine. Thank You to everyone who attended and to those who set this up.

to see some pictures from the shower. Some of the items that we received at
the baby shower included a Winnie the Pooh Pack and Play, a baby sling, hand
spun yarn, hand made baby booties, some blankets, body suits, kimonos,
money, gift certificates, clothes, and there are probably some other things
that I am forgetting.
Here is a picture for Henrietta, who wanted to see how big Ingrid is
getting. As you can see Ingrid is getting pretty big she is now in her third
trimester. As of Saturday (06/28/2008) the baby is 31 weeks. Only 9 more
weeks until her due date. Ingrid has decided as long as she meets the
criteria, that she will give birth at the
Wesley Birth Care Center.

UPDATE (08/13/2008):
It has been a while since I have been able to update the site. If you are
counting down with us, you will notice that there are less than 17 days
remaining until Ingrid's due date. As of August 4th we have been attending
Childbirth classes. There are four classes for the course, each one meets
Monday nights from 7-9PM. So we are halfway through that. Also, last
Saturday we attended a Breastfeeding course. The courses are fun, but the
last class for the Childbirth class is August 25th so we are cutting it a
little close. Besides just the course we have been preparing by cleaning up
the apartment (It is still not all the way finished, but it is MUCH BETTER
than before. A special thanks goes out to Carol for helping with this
endeavor) Also last weekend, I put together the Crib and Changing Table.
Which Carol was nice enough to deliver them to our place. Here are some
pictures of those.
Ingrid has finished with her sweater that she made for the baby. Or as how
she puts it, she is 99.9% done. Here is a picture of the sweater, we were
lucky enough to find a model to show us how the sweater looks.
With 17 days left until his due date, some of his friends are getting rather
anxious for his arrival.
And finally, this one is just for Henrietta, a picture that she requested
from Ingrid last time she talked to her.

Henrietta's Eyes Only.
UPDATE 08/27/2008:
Well, just 3 days until the baby's due date. And Ingrid is ready for the
baby to come out. We had our doctor visit today, and Dr. Jackson set up a
date for inducement, in case the baby doesn't want to come out. That date is
September 8th. Last weekend, my parents came to visit and they brought
some clothes for the baby and also my mother brought the quilt that she made
for Alexei. Here are some pictures from their visit and of the quilt.
